Woodworking Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Superway constructions Inc. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs, reading blueprints, and measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
• Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
• Scheduling and co-ordinating work on sites
• Surveying building locations and levels
• Instructing apprentices
• Maintaining, repairing and renovating residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments

Requirements:

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• 1 year to less than 2 years of experience

Work Environment:

• 35 hours per week
• English language
