We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Assistant Overnight Guide Instructor to join our team at Western Educational Adventures Inc. As an Assistant Overnight Guide Instructor, you will be responsible for leading and guiding groups of participants on overnight kayaking trips in Desolation Sound.
Responsibilities:- Facilitate various outdoor activities such as kayaking, canoeing, wilderness swimming, hiking, and wilderness navigation.
- Perform all industry standard kayak guiding responsibilities, including completing a daily log book and reading daily weather.
- Facilitate unstructured exploration time in the wilderness.
- Provide first aid as necessary.
- Supervise participants on multi-day kayak expedition programs in wilderness and institutional settings.
- Clean and prep facilities, program supplies, vehicles, and equipment.
- Attend required training sessions.
- Provide constructive feedback for supervisors, other staff, and programs.
- Assistant Overnight Guide Certification.
- Food Safe Level 1 certification.
- 40 hr Wilderness First Aid & CPR-C certification.
- At least 2 months experience working with children.
- Clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening.
- Level 2 or 3 SKGABC certification.
- 80 hr Wilderness First Aid certification.
- Bronze Cross or National Lifeguard certification.
We offer a competitive salary of $160-$225/day, depending on certification and experience.
