Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Lighting Technical Support Specialist to join our team in providing expert assistance for troubleshooting, commissioning, and programming.

This critical role requires exceptional technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide outstanding customer support.

  • Resolve customer complaints and develop corrective action plans.
  • Provide accurate technical information, set proper expectations, and maintain a positive impression of GVA Lighting.
  • Program on-site equipment, troubleshoot issues, and instruct site personnel as needed.
  • Analyze project-specific lighting layouts, 3D light renderings, electrical plans, and designs before site visits.
  • Understand GVA LED lighting product design philosophy and construction.
  • Assist sales teams in technical communication with Architects, GC, EC, EE, Lighting Designers, Distributors, and GVA rep Agencies.
  • Offer feedback to Product Managers, Engineering, Quality team, and Manufacturing teams to enhance products and processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • 2-5 years of experience in technical support.
  • High proficiency in spoken and written English communication.
  • A high level of integrity and passion for lighting design.
  • Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Knowledge and experience using AutoCAD, Firmware update tools, DMX timeline control programs, and PDF writers.
  • Familiarity with DMX control systems and protocol standards.
