About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dietitian to join our team. As a Dietitian, you will be responsible for providing competent, safe, and ethical professional practice to patients, families, and communities. You will advise on diet and food and nutrition across all health sectors, providing leadership in team efforts to support the nutritional health of patients, clients, and communities through health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, support, and rehabilitation.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in Foods and Nutrition, a Dietetic Internship Program, and current registration with the Nova Scotia Dietetic Association. A minimum of one year of working experience as a dietitian is preferred, with inpatient clinical nutrition experience being an asset. You should have competency in dysphagia management, enteral and parenteral nutrition, and experience counseling patients in an outpatient setting. Familiarity with the Meditech information system is considered an asset.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide competent, safe, and ethical professional practice to patients, families, and communities.
  • Advise on diet and food and nutrition across all health sectors.
  • Provide leadership in team efforts to support the nutritional health of patients, clients, and communities.
  • Participate in the Integrated Dietetic Internship program.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team providers to contribute to client care.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Foods and Nutrition.
  • Dietetic Internship Program.
  • Current registration with the Nova Scotia Dietetic Association.
  • Minimum one year of working experience as a dietitian.
