Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Janitor/Cleaner to join our team at Secpwepemc/St'atl'imc/Nlaka'pamux. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our staff and clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain clean and sanitary conditions in areas such as classrooms, washrooms, corridors, hallways, and common areas;
  • Clean and disinfect washrooms, floors, toys, stairways, walls, windows, and ceilings;
  • Clean and maintain upholstered furniture and carpets;
  • Report any breakdowns, accidents, damage, or vandalism to the appropriate supervisor;
  • Secure all doors and windows whenever the building is vacated and activate the security system if last person to vacate the building;
  • Perform duties in compliance with Daycare, Operations Department, and Interior Health and First Nations Health policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Physical ability to perform duties;
  • Knowledge and ability to apply modern cleaning methods and practices with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to recognize safety hazards throughout the premises;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
