About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team at MillerNet HR & Business Solutions Inc. in Calgary. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a critical role in our team's success by facilitating seamless communication across the Construction, Sales, and Estimation Departments, as well as sub-trades and supplier partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed cost estimates for precast concrete projects ranging in value from $100K to multi-million dollar contracts.
  • Review plans and specifications to determine construction costs and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with project management teams to ensure accurate and timely project execution.
  • Initially take on additional responsibilities in project management assistance.
  • Deep knowledge of estimating processes and industry standards.
  • Strong understanding of Structural Precast or Construction methodologies and execution strategies.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and organized documentation.
  • Knowledge of project management, including cost control and scheduling.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
Requirements
  • 5-10 years of experience in Structural Concrete Precast or Construction estimating; candidates with substantial experience in estimating commercial precast concrete will be considered with less overall experience.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools.
  • Excellent time management and calendar management while keeping stakeholders in the know.
  • Produce accurate cost budgets on custom price requests.
  • Review sold contracts thoroughly to ensure items on plans reconcile to amounts charged and vice versa.
  • Prepare take-offs to support budgets.
  • Produce accurate cost budgets, including customer changes and custom requests.
  • Prepare and review final job cost reports for jobs closing that month. All variances to be reviewed, reported and corrected as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the department Manager or leadership team based on business needs.
  • Develop and maintain schedules, workforce plans, and work breakdown structures.
  • Prepare and analyze subcontractor and supplier documentation, updating budgets based on project changes.
