About the Role

PCL Construction is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Estimating Student to join our team in Calgary, Alberta. As an Estimating Student, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by performing quantity survey assignments, reviewing them with senior estimators, and providing quantities of major purchase items to the purchasing department.

Responsibilities
  • Perform quantity survey assignments and review them with senior estimators.
  • Provide quantities of major purchase items to the purchasing department for pricing.
  • Transfer quantities to senior estimators.
  • Perform general subtrade solicitation duties.
  • Perform bid document control.
  • Perform bid day assignments.
  • Assist in closing a bid.
  • Visit job sites periodically.
  • Develop relationships with subcontractors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Estimator.
Qualifications
  • Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
  • Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, and drafting.
