Job Summary

VON Canada is seeking a skilled Personal Support Worker to provide companionship, personal care, and health maintenance services to clients in their homes or communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess client needs and develop personalized care plans to ensure optimal independence and well-being.
  • Provide companionship, personal care, and health maintenance services, including light housekeeping, meal preparation, and medication management.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Monitor and report any changes in client condition or needs to supervisors and healthcare teams.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and support.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; secondary school education preferred.
  • CCA Certification in Nova Scotia or equivalent required.
  • Must have a current Standard First Aid Certificate or CPR level C Certificate, if applicable to the work being performed.
  • Experience working with elderly or ill individuals or children preferred.
