We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher to join our team at Summerland Montessori School. Our school is a non-profit independent institution nestled in the beautiful Okanagan Valley, offering a unique and supportive learning environment for students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 5.
About the RoleAs a Primary Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and engaging classroom environment that fosters a love of learning in our students. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement an inquiry-based, Montessori-focused approach to teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities- Design and deliver learning experiences that meet the diverse needs of students
- Establish and maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
- Participate in professional development training and contribute to the growth of the school community
We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor of Education and/or Montessori Teaching Certificate. Experience in teaching elementary grades and a strong understanding of the Primary Program: A Framework for Teaching and the BC Early Learning Framework are essential. A commitment to play-based learning and a collaborative culture is also highly valued.
