Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Solutions Architect to join our team at 407 ETR. As a key member of our Cloud Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing cloud-based solutions that meet the company's security and scalability requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with our delivery teams to identify and implement optimal cloud-based solutions.
  • Design and develop cloud-based applications that meet the company's security and scalability requirements.
  • Manage cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines.
  • Audit and approve cloud solution designs throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives and provide associated training as required.
  • Employ exceptional problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues before they become major problems.
  • Design and implement RESTful services using APIs and integrate them with existing data providers using JSON or YAML.
  • Lead and develop best practices for the Cloud Engineering team.
  • Orchestrate and automate cloud-based platforms throughout the company.
  • Stay current with industry trends and make recommendations to help the company excel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering; Master's degree a plus.
  • Certification as an AWS Solutions Architect, Cloud Security Certification, and/or relevant experience.
  • Three to five years' experience in a Cloud Engineering role or related position.
  • Experience working with cloud networking concepts and architectures (VPC, Loadbalancing, Transit Gateway, Security Groups, routing).
  • Experience working with Linux/UNIX, Containers, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience in developing software using languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Go.
  • Experience with SOA applications and cloud-based services, preferably AWS, and Azure knowledge is a bonus.
  • Knowledge of web services, REST, and APIs in general.
  • High proficiency in core AWS services such as Lambda, IAM, S3, Cloud Formation, API Gateway, Config Rules.
  • Experience hardening to meet security standards (such as CIS).
  • Experience using and developing automated CI/CD and testing tools.
  • Database experience, including knowledge of SQL and NoSQL, and related data stores such as Postgres.
  • Extensive experience with open-source technology, software development, and system engineering.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, and the ability to stay focused on completing tasks and meeting goals within a busy workspace.
  • Interest in Cloud Engineering and its impact on greater business practices.
