Overview

Southbridge Care Homes is dedicated to providing exceptional care to our residents. We are seeking a qualified Director of Care to lead our nursing department in delivering high-quality care and services.

Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 based on industry standards and Ottawa's cost of living.

Job Summary

The Director of Care will be responsible for implementing and evaluating nursing department initiatives, leading coordination and implementation of best practices, and effectively managing utilization of nursing supplies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive care plans for residents
  • Lead the nursing team in maintaining a safe and supportive environment
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of care services
  • Manage and maintain accurate records and reports
  • Mentor and coach staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Initiate and investigate incidents related to occupational health and safety
  • Participate in special projects and reviews as assigned

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Nursing from a recognized institution
  • Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in long-term care with a focus on leadership and management
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
