Instrumentation Engineer

As an Instrumentation Engineer with Cenovus Energy Inc., you will provide technical support to capital projects and day-to-day operations. You will work under the supervision of the Manager, Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering, and be responsible for providing assistance to maintenance personnel for telecoms, instrumentation & control troubleshooting and failure analysis, as well as disposition of Management of Change (MOC) requests.
You will handle selected small projects, including design and construction management, and be responsible for overall safe and effective use of the controls and communications systems on the installation. This position will require traveling offshore periodically.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing day-to-day technical assistance to offshore operations/maintenance groups
- Providing mentorship and direction to the EPC contractors
- Performing technical reviews of engineering designs
- Providing detail engineering design for small projects which are primarily I&C or telecoms in scope
- Assisting in the development and maintenance of corporate programs such as technical specifications, cyber security and alarm management
- Training as required by the CAPP Standard Practice for Training & Qualifications of Personnel, Transport Canada, other regulatory requirements, and company required training as per the approved Cenovus Training Matrix
Requirements:
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Bachelor of Electrical and Computer Engineering Degree
- Member in good standing or eligible for Professional Engineer status with Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL)
- Minimum of four (4) years Instrumentation & Controls related experience within the oil and gas industry
- Knowledge of CNLOPB, DNV and Transport Canada regulations and standards
- Knowledge and experience with various telecommunication's system
