Accountant Job Description

RJM Tax & Accounting Services Inc. is seeking a skilled Accountant to join our team. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage balance sheets, profit/loss statements, and other financial records
  • Prepare financial statements, reports, and other financial documents
  • Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, procedures, and internal control
  • Develop financial plans for clients and make recommendations concerning cash management, insurance coverage, investment planning, retirement, and estate planning
  • Conduct field audits of businesses to ensure compliance with provisions of the Income Tax Act, the Canadian Business Corporations Act, or other statutory requirements
  • Review and examine financial services and institutions to ensure compliance with governing legislation and regulation
  • Analyze financial documents and reports
  • Examine accounting records
  • Investigate possible unethical conduct or breaches of securities or commodity futures law
  • Provide financial, business, and tax advice
  • Negotiate with corporations and government to determine the type and terms of new securities issue
  • Assist in the planning and execution of financial statement audits
  • Variance analysis
  • Keep financial records and establish, maintain, and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
  • Oversee payroll administration
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in accounting or related field
  • Permanent employment
  • English language proficiency
  • 35 hours per week
