Physician Coverage Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health organization is seeking a physician to provide coverage for the Hospitalist Medicine Service at the QEII. This opportunity involves providing care to approximately 45 patients with a long-term care level of care, cohorted at the VG Hospital. The compensation for this position is sessional at a rate of $1515 per day.
ResponsibilitiesAs a physician in this role, you will be responsible for seeing patients twice weekly and as needed. Your hours of duty will be from 8am to 5pm, with the expectation that you will be available at the bedside within 20 minutes if a patient experiences a clinical change. There is no overnight call obligation, and you will be expected to attend weekly interdisciplinary team rounds. In the event of a patient becoming medically unstable, an acute care Hospitalist will be available on site to support patient care and facilitate transfer if necessary.
We are seeking to schedule individual providers on a weekly basis, but are open to half weeks or days. This flexibility will allow us to meet the needs of our patients and provide a stable and predictable schedule for our physicians.
Qualifications- To be eligible for this opportunity, applicants must be licensed with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) is also required.
