Physician Locum Opportunity with Nova Scotia Health Authority

Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a family medicine physician to provide locum coverage. Our clinic is a busy, well-established facility with a collegial and supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities- Examine patients and take their medical histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures, and advise patients on healthcare, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Consult with and refer patients to other medical practitioners as needed.
- Act as a patient advocate and provide support and guidance to patients and their families.
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations, and vaccinations as required.
- Report births, deaths, contagious diseases, and other health-related incidents to the relevant authorities.
Our clinic is equipped with modern technology, including electronic medical records (EMR) and computer systems for patient encounters. The work environment is supportive and collaborative, with a team of experienced physicians and support staff.
Requirements- Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
- Eligibility for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA).
