Job Title: Carpenter and Contractor

ZA Electrical and General Contractor Ltd is seeking a skilled Carpenter and Contractor to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Carpenter and Contractor to work on various construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and construction, with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare production and other reports
  • Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
  • Read blueprints and drawings
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies
  • Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets
  • Load, unload and transport construction materials
  • Build and repair wooden frames used to mould concrete products
  • Assist with landscape constructions
  • Work with minimal supervision
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
  • Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
  • Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
Requirements:
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in the field
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Strong background in carpentry and construction
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
