Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join our team at CB Canada. As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining and growing the core accounting functions within the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statement packages to be submitted to management and the parent company.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end close process and meet scheduled deadlines.
  • Participate in the research and implementation of appropriate accounting standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Communicate and exchange information with all levels and departments within the organization and subsidiaries.
  • Assist with integration of subsidiaries.
  • Monthly maintenance and review of capital asset subledger, and analysis to capital budget.
  • Partner with Fleet, Operations, and other functions to provide timely, accurate, complete and relevant financial information to ensure accurate forecasts and support other financial planning and analysis initiatives.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors as required.
  • Prepare monthly regulatory filings in accordance with provincial and federal regulations.
  • Communicate and exchange information with all levels and departments within the organization and subsidiaries.
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance with IFRS.
  • Provide support with the ERP systems of the organization.
  • Additional duties as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-4 years accounting experience.
  • CPA designation, or pursuing professional accounting designation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ambitious self-starter who can improve processes and controls.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet several deadlines simultaneously.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Familiar with ERP systems, experience with Sage is an asset.
  • Analytical, detail oriented.
