Job Title: Grounds Maintenance

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Grounds Maintenance professional to join our team at CMHC. As a key member of our maintenance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of Granville Island's facilities and grounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform repairs and maintenance tasks on facility fixtures, including sinks, taps, toilets, and window handles.
  • Conduct landscaping, leaf blowing, and paving stone repair.
  • Carry out woodwork repair, boardwalk, and bench maintenance.
  • Clean gutters, drains, and perform roof work as required.
  • Sweep, pressure wash, and remove waste, as well as perform other general cleaning tasks.
  • Represent CMHC and Granville Island in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Provide information to customers and tenants as required.

Requirements:

  • Building maintenance experience.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Safety knowledge as per Workers Compensation Board regulations and the Canada Labour Code.
  • The ability to adapt to changes and show initiative when needed.
  • Awareness of hazards and ability to work in a marine environment.
  • Other cleaning and maintenance duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Scissor lift experience.
  • Fall protection experience.
  • WHMIS certificate.
