Job Opportunity at the University of Toronto

The Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time tenure stream appointment in the Finance Area. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025.

About the Position

Candidates must have earned a PhD degree in finance or a cognate discipline with a focus on finance (e.g. economics) by the time of appointment, or shortly thereafter, with a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. We seek candidates whose research and teaching interests complement and enhance our existing strengths.

Research and Teaching Expectations
  • Pursue innovative and independent research at the highest level, establish an outstanding, independent research program, and publish articles in internationally recognized top-tier and field relevant academic journals in the field of finance and/or cognate disciplines.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in finance, including introductory and advanced courses, and develop new courses that align with the department's strategic priorities.
  • Supervise graduate students and provide guidance on research projects and academic writing.
Requirements
  • PhD degree in finance or a cognate discipline with a focus on finance (e.g. economics).
  • Demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching.
  • Strong research and teaching interests that complement and enhance our existing strengths.
