Job Description

As a Perioperative Nursing Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care in the perioperative phase. You will work closely with our surgical team to ensure safe and effective care, and contribute to quality initiatives that promote a positive and supportive work environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing surgery, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives that enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices and advancements in perioperative nursing.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A diploma or degree in nursing from an accredited program.
  • Current registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
  • Previous experience in perioperative nursing, preferably as a charge nurse or in a leadership role.
Education and Training

We will provide mandatory education, including ACLS, NRP, and Fetal Heart Surveillance. Recommended education, applicable to the position, will be reimbursed.
