Job Title: Registered Nurse Leader

BC Women's Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse Leader to join our team. As a key member of our nursing leadership team, you will play a vital role in coordinating staffing coverage, providing supervision, guidance, and expert clinical support to our nursing and support staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care and adherence to professional and clinical standards.
  • Coordinate staffing coverage and adjust staffing levels to match workload demands.
  • Monitor hospital utilization and oversee activity within the different areas of the programs.
  • Resolve problems related to patient care and ensure quality patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with physicians, families, and departments within the hospital to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Ensure a safe environment for patients, families, and staff by following established emergency procedures and safety practices.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of patient care standards and policies.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Five (5) years of recent perinatal experience, including a minimum of one (1) year's recent, related experience in a supervisory/leadership capacity.
  • Current CPR/NRP certification and Fetal Health Assessment certification (BCWH or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, lead and make decisions independently, and develop, prioritize, and accomplish objectives.
  • Excellent team building skills and ability to participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
