Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing educational support to students with special needs, developing and implementing individualized education plans, and collaborating with teachers and other staff members to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans for students with special needs
  • Provide educational support to students in a variety of settings, including classrooms and one-on-one sessions
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive learning environment
  • Communicate with parents and guardians to ensure that students receive the support they need
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in special education
Requirements
  • Current registration and in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT)
  • Minimum Bachelor of Education Degree
  • Special Education, Specialist Parts
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as a member of a professional team
  • Ability to adapt curriculum to meet a range of learning styles and abilities
  • First Aid and CPR certification
