Job Title: Rural and Suburban Relay Mail Carrier

Description: We are seeking a reliable and organized individual to join our team as a rural and suburban relay mail carrier. As a mail carrier, you will be responsible for delivering mail and packages to various communities.

Responsibilities:

  • Sort, collect, and distribute mail and packages in a safe and timely manner
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of local infrastructure, including roads, clients, and delivery receptacles
  • Ensure the safe handling of mail and packages
  • Treat various CPC products and services, including change of address notifications, damaged mail, and delivered bills
  • Wear Canada Post identification while delivering and collecting mail and packages
  • Lift and transport items up to 50 pounds
  • Have experience with deliveries and using a vehicle in various weather and road conditions

Requirements:

  • Have a satisfactory safe driving record
  • Hold a valid permanent provincial driver's license, class 5 or G
  • Have a minimum cargo space of 100 cubic feet for measuring the vehicle's utility load
  • Have a metal roof and an additional power outlet for installing a Canada Post panel and a flashing light
  • Have a fifth door or hatch for loading oversized and bulky items (preferably)
  • Provide and maintain the required automobile liability insurance
  • Notify your insurance company of the vehicle's use during employment with Canada Post
