Senior Project Manager/Business Analyst - Oil & Gas - Calgary

Brainhunter Systems Ltd. is seeking a Senior Project Manager/Business Analyst for an upcoming Service Management System Implementation project with a Midstream Oil & Gas client in Calgary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage project development from beginning to end, adhering to the company-approved project management methodology.
  • Participate in defining project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders and project sponsors.
  • Develop full-scale project plans, change control, and communication documentation, providing status updates and facilitating Steering Committee meetings.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using Microsoft Project Online.
  • Direct the creation and maintenance of portfolio documentation and artifacts.
  • Manage project budgeting, forecasting, financial reconciliation, vendor management, and procurement activities.
  • Track, measure, and report project results, including on-budget, on-time, and defined success criteria.
  • Direct communications about the project to stakeholders, sponsors, the steering committee, and senior executives.
  • Proactively identify risks and manage mitigation strategies.
  • Track milestones, manage project dependencies, monitor contract compliance, and project critical path activities.
  • Conduct project post-implementation analysis and create a recommendations report to identify successful project elements.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years of Information Technology project management experience.
  • At least one recent Service Management System implementation/upgrade/migration project, preferably with an Oil & Gas company.
  • PMI, CMM, ISO, and/or CMMI certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing multiple work streams in a complex project environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to listen, negotiate, convince effectively, including ability to persuade and defuse tense situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex messages to diverse audiences at all organizational levels.
  • Proven ability to use computer software and applications, including advanced features of Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, MS Project, and SharePoint.
  • Demonstrated record of success as a results-oriented project manager.
  • Demonstrated consultative and client-focused experience.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrixed environment across multiple company business units, project vendors, and third-party service providers.
  • A general understanding of GAAP O&M and Capital accounting practices and standards.
