We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Policy Analyst to join our team at the Canadian Federation of Independent Business. As a key member of our Legislative Affairs team, you will play a critical role in shaping our policy agenda and advocating for the interests of small business owners across Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement research and analysis on public policy issues affecting small business, with a focus on tax policy, public finances, regulatory policy, labour and social policy.
  • Represent CFIB in lobbying efforts and at various government and external meetings, ensuring our policy positions are effectively communicated.
  • Stay informed on pertinent legislation, economic trends, and government policy developments, and provide timely analysis and recommendations to inform our policy directions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective communications strategies to engage with CFIB members, the media, and other stakeholders.
  • Act as a media spokesperson when necessary, ensuring our policy positions and the voices of small businesses are heard.
Requirements
  • Superior written and oral communication skills, with the ability to write complex policy briefs and presentations.
  • Proven experience in public policy, research, or legislative environments, with a strong understanding of the small business sector and its role in the Canadian economy.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective policy recommendations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and government officials.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple deadlines and priorities.
