About the Role

Ubisoft Montreal, a leading video game development studio, is seeking a skilled Cinematics Designer to join our team. As a key member of our cinematics department, you will be responsible for creating engaging and immersive cut scenes that bring our games to life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement compelling dialogue-based cut scenes with excellent pacing, camera work, and character animation.
  • Collaborate with level design, scriptwriting, animation, and programming teams to ensure seamless integration.
  • Balance quality and efficiency in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Validate cinematics to ensure smooth integration with the rest of the game.
  • Share knowledge and expertise with technical leads to improve tool quality.
Requirements
  • College diploma or degree in cinema, animation, video game development, or equivalent.
  • At least 1-3 years of experience in the video game industry as a Cinematic Designer, Artist, Animator, Previz Artist, Camera Artist, or Video Editor.
  • Proficiency in character and camera animation in 3D software.
  • Portfolio or demo reel showcasing your work.
