The Opportunity

We are seeking a Community and Startup Recruitment Specialist to join our team at the DMZ, a world-leading startup incubator based at TMU. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and implementing recruitment policies and procedures for DMZ programs, evaluating company applications, and fostering relationships with prospective startup teams and founders.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement recruitment policies and procedures for DMZ programs, ensuring alignment with the university's goals and objectives.
  2. Evaluate company applications, assessing their suitability for DMZ programs and providing recommendations to the Manager.
  3. Foster relationships with prospective startup teams and founders, maintaining a direct connection with the DMZ community.
  4. Represent the DMZ and TMU at community events, conferences, and tech summits, promoting the university's innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives.
  5. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with prospective community partners and founder-focused organizations, creating a strong partner referral network.
  6. Provide ongoing support and administration to improve the delivery of service, including reviewing and recommending changes to administrative policies and procedures.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A post-secondary degree program and a minimum of four years of relevant work experience in a startup ecosystem, including pipeline development and program development.
  • Significant experience in entrepreneurship, including building and managing relationships.
