Assistant Professor of Spanish

We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor to join our Department of Humanities in the Faculty of Arts and Science at MacEwan University. The successful candidate will complement our current faculty members' areas of expertise and have experience teaching Spanish language acquisition courses as well as Hispanic literatures and cultures.
The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. in a relevant area of expertise and demonstrate a primary commitment to undergraduate teaching and an ongoing research program. The position will commence on July 1, 2025, and is subject to final budgetary approval.
Responsibilities- Teach Spanish language acquisition courses and Hispanic literatures and cultures
- Develop and implement curriculum for upper-level content courses (e.g., Translation or Spanish for the Professions)
- Contribute to the Department's multidisciplinary approach and values of collaboration and integration
- Maintain an ongoing research program and publish scholarly work
- Ph.D. in a relevant area of expertise
- Native or near-native fluency in Spanish
- Experience teaching Spanish language acquisition courses and Hispanic literatures and cultures
- Ability to develop and implement curriculum for upper-level content courses
