Opportunity to excel in a dynamic environment supporting the legal affairs of the Toronto Blue Jays and Rogers Centre.

Our team is looking for a Lead Commercial Transactions Lawyer to join our Legal Affairs department. As a key member of the team, you will support the management of legal affairs and provide critical guidance on commercial transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and drafting complex contracts, including sponsorship and licensing agreements, marketing initiatives, and contest rules.
  • Collaborating with senior lawyers and organizational departments to provide input and advice on business and legal considerations.
  • Primary departmental responsibility for managing the legal component of contest development and review processes.
  • Providing legal review and guidance on advertising, marketing, and promotions to ensure regulatory compliance and consistency of messaging.

Requirements:

  • J.D. degree required, with 2+ years of experience in commercial transactions and contract drafting.
  • Strong business acumen, decision-making ability, and ability to assess and evaluate business decisions.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with proven ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, and creatively problem-solve under tight deadlines.

Estimated salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.

This is a full-time position, with a salary range based on experience. We offer a unique employment experience working for the only Major League Baseball team in Canada.
