Role Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Guidewire PolicyCenter developer to join our team at Cognizant. As a software engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining insurance software solutions using the Guidewire platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, configure, test, and maintain Guidewire PolicyCenter applications according to project timelines and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather functional specifications, identify gaps, and propose optimal technical solutions.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices and guidelines.
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and sprint meetings as required.
  • Ensure all deliverables align with client expectations, industry regulations, and company policies.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, debug errors, and provide quick turnaround time on issue resolution.
  • Stay up to date with new features, updates, and trends related to Guidewire PolicyCenter and share knowledge with the broader development community.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to junior developers and contribute to continuous learning within the organization.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of proven experience working with Guidewire PolicyCenter as a developer or consultant.
  • Strong proficiency in Java, JavaScript, XML, JSON, SQL, and Web Services (RESTful APIs).
  • Familiarity with Guidewire InsuranceSuite components such as ClaimCenter, BillingCenter, and DataHub is desirable.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, Test Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and DevOps tools like Git, Jenkins, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to collaborate effectively with remote and distributed teams.

Working Arrangements:

We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto.
