Accounts Payable Specialist

Thompson Rivers University is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of disbursements and payments.
Key Responsibilities- Verify and process invoices, ensuring compliance with TRU's payment policies and procedures.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in travel expense claims.
- Respond to internal and external queries with professionalism and courtesy.
- Generate accounts payable cheques and other payment methods, producing related reports.
- Review and analyze accounts payable reports, including voucher registers and outstanding travel advances.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable files and records.
- Grade 12 diploma, plus completion of a two-year business diploma, including introduction to accounting and Microsoft Office.
- Two years' experience in an accounting-related function.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Sitting at a desk and computer for extended periods.
- General office conditions.
The salary for this position is determined by the Collective Agreement with the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 4879, as it presently exists.
