Process Improvement Specialist

Job Summary:
Sonoco is seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join our team in Brantford. This individual will be responsible for process improvement in the paper manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct studies and make recommendations for continuous process control improvements to enhance productivity, reduce scrap, and improve quality.
- Develop and manage capital authorization requests and capital projects.
- Utilize Six Sigma and Total Quality Management tools to drive process improvements.
- Manage multiple projects and support process improvement teams within the plants.
- Work with plant employees to establish standard work instructions for manufacturing procedures.
- Conduct mill audits to identify improvement opportunities and develop improvement action plans.
- Manage and document mill engineering changes and maintain current records of mill processes and controls.
- Work with customers to qualify mill engineering changes and their impact on customer processes and products.
- Provide support to maintenance systems within the mill.
- Work with Quality Engineer and Customers to develop or improve paper grades.
- Ensure the safety of all employees and assist with a comprehensive safety program to prevent injuries.
- Comply with all applicable provincial and local environmental and safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Support Plant management in continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- BS degree in Engineering or Sciences or equivalent.
- One or more years of manufacturing experience.
