Executive Chef and Kitchen Operations Manager

At MB Cambridge Inc., we are seeking an exceptional Executive Chef and Kitchen Operations Manager to lead our culinary team. This is a highly demanding role that requires a strong leader with excellent cooking skills, organizational abilities, and attention to detail.
About the RoleWe are offering a competitive salary of $85,000 per annum for this position, commensurate with experience.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals, managing kitchen operations, ordering supplies, training staff, and maintaining inventory in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Determining Food Portion Sizes and Costs:
- Planning Menus and Estimating Food Requirements: The Executive Chef will be responsible for planning menus and estimating food requirements to ensure timely delivery of high-quality meals to customers.
- Requisitioning Food and Kitchen Supplies: The successful candidate will need to requisition food and kitchen supplies to maintain a well-stocked inventory and prevent stockouts.
- Cooking Complete Meals or Individual Dishes: As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for cooking complete meals or individual dishes to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Preparing Dishes for Customers with Food Allergies or Intolerances: You will need to prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, ensuring their safety and satisfaction.
- Inspecting Kitchen and Food Service Areas: Regular inspections of the kitchen and food service areas will be necessary to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Training Staff in Food Preparation and Handling: The successful candidate will be responsible for training staff in food preparation and handling techniques to ensure they meet company standards.
- Ordering Supplies and Equipment: You will need to order supplies and equipment to maintain a well-equipped kitchen and prevent stockouts.
- Supervising Kitchen Staff and Helpers: As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for supervising kitchen staff and helpers to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality food production.
- Maintaining Inventory and Records: Maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring that stock levels are sufficient to meet customer demand will be essential for this role.
- Cleaning Kitchen and Work Areas: Regular cleaning of the kitchen and work areas will be necessary to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
In addition to the above responsibilities, the successful candidate will also be responsible for:
- Attention to Detail: Maintaining attention to detail in all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu planning, inventory management, and food preparation.
- Fast-Paced Environment: Working in a fast-paced environment where adaptability and flexibility are essential.
- Physically Demanding: Performing physically demanding tasks such as standing for extended periods and lifting heavy objects.
