Lead Our News Team in Vancouver

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Manager to lead our news team in Vancouver. As a key member of our editorial leadership team, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and guidance to our newsroom, ensuring the highest quality content is delivered to our audience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide editorial leadership and direction to the CityNews team in Vancouver
  • Lead the transition to a streaming-first work model and the Vancouver 24/7 streaming channel
  • Develop and implement special projects, including breaking news, prime-time specials, and election coverage
  • Lead the regional CityNews production team based in Vancouver
  • Collaborate with OMNI News, RTV, and 1130 News Radio teammates in Vancouver and Canada to provide exceptional content to our viewers
  • Elevate editorial and journalistic standards for the content team
  • Work with operations and engineering teams to innovate our news production model
Requirements:
  • Proven experience managing a TV newsroom and people
  • Strong eye for great content and understanding of what works for digital, radio, and broadcast
  • Experience leading major national productions
  • Willingness to explore new ideas and approaches to content and production, especially in streaming and news production
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly in high-pressure situations
  • Ability to drive teamwork and influence people without authority
  • Deep understanding of Vancouver and its dynamic role in Canada
