Perioperative Nursing Support Specialist

The Cornwall Community Hospital is seeking a skilled Personal Support Worker to join our Perioperative team. As a key member of our nursing unit, you will provide direct and indirect care to patients, supporting the overall provision of nursing care. This role requires a strong commitment to patient safety, a demonstrated ability to work with patients with dementia or cognitive impairments, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one care to patients as required
- Assist with direct and indirect activities that support the overall provision of nursing care
- Embody a culture of caregiver inclusion in the patient's plan of care
- Work collaboratively as a member of the multidisciplinary team
Requirements:
- Graduate of a Personal Support Worker Program from a Community College
- Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support
- Demonstrated ability to work with patients with dementia or cognitive impairments
- Functional proficiency in English (oral and written)
