We are seeking a skilled Wood Processing Labourer to join our team at Ledwidge Lumber. As a Wood Processing Labourer, you will be responsible for feeding conveyors, hoppers, saws, and drying machines, loading chips, sulphur, and processing materials, sorting, piling, and transporting wood products, and removing scrap lumber and wood chips for reprocessing.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment is noisy, with odours, dust, heat, and cold/refrigerated conditions. You will be working in a sawmill setting, which can be physically demanding.
Responsibilities- Feed conveyors, hoppers, saws, and drying machines
- Load chips, sulphur, and processing materials
- Sort, pile, and transport wood products
- Remove scrap lumber and wood chips for reprocessing
- Clean machines and immediate work areas
- Repetitive tasks
- Handling heavy loads
- Physically demanding
- Manual dexterity
- Attention to detail
- Hand-eye co-ordination
- Combination of sitting, standing, walking
You will be required to handle weights up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
ExperienceExperience is an asset, but not required.
