Carpenter Job Description

Pura Vida Contracting Ltd is seeking a skilled carpenter to join our team. As a carpenter, you will be responsible for preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs, reading blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements, and measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
  • Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
  • Instructing apprentices and supervising other workers
  • Estimating costs and materials
  • Maintaining, repairing and renovating residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
