Master Craftsman

Pura Vida Contracting Ltd is seeking a skilled tradesperson to join our team as a carpenter. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing estimates of labour and/or material costs, reading blueprints, and measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.

• Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
• Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
• Instruct apprentices
• Supervise other workers
• Estimate costs and materials
• Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced construction environment with a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling. The physical demands of the job require handling heavy loads and working in a physically demanding environment.

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• 2 years to less than 3 years of experience or equivalent experience
