Job Title: Senior Civil Engineer - Power Specialist

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer - Power Specialist to join our team in Vancouver. As a technical leader, you will be responsible for designing underground infrastructure for power utilities, developing design solutions that meet all applicable codes and regulations, and leading technical design discussions to ensure scope objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design underground infrastructure for power utilities to meet project requirements
  • Develop design solutions that meet all applicable codes, standards, and regulations
  • Lead technical design discussions, internally and externally, to ensure scope objectives are met
  • Review and authenticate drawings for power distribution projects
  • Provide construction support
  • Support development of proposals, project cost estimates, and project schedules
  • Manage external client relationships through effective and timely communication
  • Identify potential safety or environmental concerns and initiate appropriate action
  • Provide coaching and guidance to project team members
  • Provide technical guidance to customers, stakeholders, and external consultants
  • Travel and perform site visits as required

Qualifications:

  • Registered P.Eng with EGBC
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in underground utility infrastructure design
  • Strong understanding of civil earthworks, grading, and drainage designs and requirements
  • Effective interpersonal skills – strong written and verbal skills are a must, to ensure clear communication between team members, clients, contractors, and suppliers
  • Able to work effectively both independently under minimal supervision, and as a member of a team in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to set priorities, organize work, and complete work within given timelines
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Civil 3D
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience designing underground utility infrastructure within North America
  • Experience working with a Power utility would be an asset

Salary Range:

  • Lower Mainland $103,500 - Lower Mainland $155,200 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in BC (Lower Mainland includes Vancouver & Burnaby)

The final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec Consulting International Ltd. certain roles are bonus eligible.
