About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive services to adults with mental health/addiction disorders who fit within our established target population.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and treatment planning for patients/clients with complex mental health disorders and/or concurrent disorder(s)
  • Providing professional clinical services, including group treatment approaches and client, family, and community education about mental health disorders and their treatments
  • Traveling to various locations as required

You will work closely with our team to ensure that the principles and practices that guide our work are integrated within the services you provide and through the messages you deliver.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • A Master's degree in Social Work
  • Registration or eligibility to be registered with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers (NSCSW)
  • At least two years of clinical experience working with an adult population providing time-limited, evidence-based psycho-social assessments and treatments
  • Demonstrated skills in DSM formulation, time-limited, evidence-based psycho-social assessments and treatments, and Stepped Care principles
  • Experience in providing supervision to psychology residents, students, and peers
  • A working theoretical and practical knowledge of psychological testing applicable to an adult patient population
  • Motivation, a strong customer service orientation, and the ability to build solid healthcare patient/partner relationships
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Hours and Compensation

This is a short assignment full-time position, working 75 hours biweekly. The compensation for this role is $49.05 hourly.

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
