About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Architect to join our team at CB Canada. As a Cloud Architect, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to projects by working on requirements, architecture, and scalability of 3-tier web applications, prioritizing security, and drawing on best practices to make recommendations across the lifecycle.
  • Build cloud environments by planning, designing, creating, and maintaining cloud environments predominantly in AWS, adapting to work in GCP and other cloud platforms as needed by our external partners.
  • Monitor and optimize our Linux systems, checking the health of cloud infrastructure through logs, and updating infrastructure platforms based on requests.
  • Collaborate with our DevOps team to ensure the maximum efficiency of our build and deploy environment, working closely with both software and hardware Engineering teams to improve, expand, or define builds, deployments, infrastructure, architecture, and tools.
Requirements
  • 4+ years of related experience in a high-capacity, high-impact, high availability online environment and hands-on experience with:
    • Linux Administration.
    • AWS cloud technologies like IAM, KMS, S3, EC2, Autoscale, ELB/ALB, Route53.
    • Writing and maintaining Cloudformation and Terraform configurations.
    • Web server technologies such as Apache or Nginx.
    • RDBMS and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra or MongoDB.
  • Taking ownership of deliverables and coaching and guiding junior team members to successfully achieve results, managing and prioritizing multiple initiatives with competing deadlines.
  • Effective and flexible communication skills, comfortable making presentations to stakeholders, and an appreciation for diverse experiences, cultures, and backgrounds, able to work inclusively with global teams.
  • Understanding the nature and demands of a 24/7 always available global environment and participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation to support our systems.
