Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at 1327774 B.C. as a Teacher for persons with autism. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and implementing individualized education plans to support students with autism spectrum disorder.

Key Responsibilities
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field, with 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in teaching students with autism.
  • Work Setting: Elementary school or school/educational institution/establishment.
  • Tasks:
    • Instruct students in the use of rehabilitative techniques, prosthetic devices, and wheelchairs.
    • Assist students in developing life skills.
    • Collaborate with specialists to develop programs for clients' special needs.
    • Develop individualized education and intervention plans based on the special needs of clients to facilitate their readaptation and independence objectives.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Behaviour management Certification, Mental health first aid Certificate, and Rehabilitation or Special Education Certificate.
  • Target Audience: Children, persons who are intellectually impaired, persons with physical disabilities, and persons with learning disabilities.
  • Security and Safety: Bondable, medical exam, and immunization records.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure, attention to detail.
  • Personal Suitability: Client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexibility, and organized.
