About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Coordinator to join our team at the Government of Nova Scotia. As an Administrative Coordinator, you will provide administrative support to the Courts Management Team at the Sydney Justice Centre.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Courts Management Team, including responding to inquiries, preparing correspondence, and maintaining a filing system.
  • Liaise and interact with members of the Department and the judiciary on behalf of the Court Administrator or Supervisor(s).
  • Perform records and file management in accordance with departmental policy, procedure, and practice.
  • Ensure all purchases are ordered, accounted for, and posted to the budget.
  • Maintain personnel files for staff who report to the Court Administrator or Supervisor(s).
Requirements
  • Completed a one-year secretarial/commercial course and three years of experience in a legal setting, or an acceptable equivalent.
  • Excellent typing, transcribing skills, organizational, administrative, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with financial transactions and invoicing, accounts payable, and working with vendors.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise a high degree of independent action.
