Cyber Security Defense Analyst

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Defense Analyst to join our team at the Royal Bank of Canada. As a key member of our Cyber Resiliency initiatives, you will be responsible for maintaining the security posture of our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Security Information Event Management (SIEM) Platform Maintenance: Ensure the RBC SIEM platform is properly configured, maintained, and updated to provide real-time security monitoring and incident response.
- Correlation Rule Development: Develop and implement effective correlation rules to identify and respond to security threats in a timely manner.
- Security Context Alerts and Log Sources: Review security context alerts and log sources to identify potential security incidents and take proactive measures to prevent them.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other members of the Global Cyber Security teams to ensure the security posture of RBC is maintained and take a proactive approach in continually assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of the SIEM platform.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in a technology-related discipline or 3 years of relevant experience.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a role dedicated to the configuration, maintenance, and administration of SIEM Platform (Splunk, Sumo Logic, Azure Sentinel, QRadar).
- Skills: Significant experience with and working knowledge of Syslog, practical experience with Python, and significant experience with and expertise in creating event correlation logic and rules.
- Certifications: Certified SIEM certification and Certified Information Systems Security Profession are a plus.
