At BC Ltd., we are currently seeking a skilled Woodworking Specialist - Structural Construction to join our team. This is a permanent position with an estimated salary of $60,000 per year.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to work on various woodworking projects, including residential and industrial construction. The successful candidate will have excellent technical skills and knowledge of building codes, as well as experience working with wood and other materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reading blueprints and drawings: The Woodworking Specialist - Structural Construction will be responsible for carefully reading blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements.
  • Preparing layouts: They will prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools and ensuring accuracy and precision.
  • Measuring, cutting, and assembling materials: The specialist will measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
  • Building foundations and erecting structures: They will build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Fitting and installing fixtures and hardware: The Woodworking Specialist - Structural Construction will fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
  • Maintaining and repairing structures: They will maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in woodworking or a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of building codes and regulations.
  • Excellent technical skills, including proficiency in measuring, cutting, and assembling materials.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
