A Day in the Life of a Customer Service Representative
As a Customer Service Representative, you play an essential role in providing excellent customer service and driving sales for our company. You are the first point of contact customers have when they enter our store, and you assist them with any service requests while maintaining a friendly and positive attitude.
You answer the phone in a timely manner to provide responses to any questions or inquiries customers may have. Some of the requests you help with involve providing prices, checking item availability, processing orders, replenishing display items, and conducting research to find solutions.
You provide recommendations to customers based on their individual needs and relay important company and industry information. Your excellent service consistently meets our company's performance standards and goals as defined by your manager.
Qualifications for a Customer Service Representative
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with in-person customer service
- Familiarity with computer operations, including data entry and switching between multiple screens
- Excellent phone skills
- Basic math skills
Bilingual would be a plus, but multiple factors will be taken into consideration. You must be able to work well under pressure and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You should be able to maintain a positive and upbeat attitude and balance multiple tasks while demonstrating good time management. You will work well as part of a team and be highly organized and attentive to detail.
Work Schedule for a Customer Service Representative
This part-time customer service position typically works daytime hours Monday through Friday and some Saturday shifts depending on location.
