Palliative Care Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Palliative Care Nurse Specialist to join our team at Fraser Health Authority.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will provide expert care and support to patients and families in our Palliative Complex Care Unit, utilizing their knowledge and experience in palliative care to make a positive impact on patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients in the Palliative Complex Care Unit
- Utilize a patient-centered approach to evaluate actual or potential problems and/or strengths, and develop effective interventions to address them
- Collect patient information from various sources, including observation, communication, and physical assessment, to inform nursing care decisions
- Write timely and accurate reports of relevant observations, including patient and family teaching and evaluation of nursing care
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Graduation from an approved school of Nursing
- One year recent acute medical/surgical nursing or acute palliative care experience, plus completion of a certificate in the designated clinical area, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
