Job Responsibilities

As a key member of the BGIS SCS Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and quality control within a designated zone.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming, and ensure the exterior perimeter of the building is also well-maintained.
  • Empty waste receptacles and transport garbage from drop points to garbage bins or compactors.
  • Clean and store equipment and machinery used, and replenish cleaning solutions as needed.
  • Follow procedures for dilution of detergents and maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Perform low and high dusting, glass cleaning, and bathroom cleaning as required.
  • Notify supervisors of any major repairs needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Experience in performing cleaning, housekeeping, and maintenance activities in an institutionalized environment.
  • Familiarity with floor maintenance machines, cleaning equipment, materials, and solutions.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, including WHMIS.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for cooperative working relationships with staff and clients.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and shifts as assigned, as well as work in multiple locations.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and maintain records.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this role include standing, walking, and talking or hearing; using hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls; and reaching with hands and arms. Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds may be required. Close vision and the ability to adjust focus are also essential.
