Job Summary
The Sleep Technologist will be responsible for ensuring the proper performance of all procedures relating to the accurate and safe operation of diagnostic and therapeutic polysomnographic services. This includes preparing documentation and rooms for data collection, explaining testing procedures to patients, and monitoring sleep studies throughout the evening.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the documentation and room for data collection.
- Explain testing procedures to patients and answer their queries/concerns.
- Assist patients with the use of equipment and ensure patient safety.
- Perform and assist with duties in the pediatric and research labs.
- Ability to work independently in a time-efficient manner according to set protocols and policies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant post-secondary education in a field such as sciences, psychology, biology, or neuroscience.
- Strong communication and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently.
- 2-3 years of experience as a PSGT/RPSGT, with experience in scoring L1 studies, performing MSLTS and MWTs, and working with Sandman and Alice equipment.
- Interest in growing skills to assume leadership responsibilities and a proven track record of delivering high-quality patient care.
