Responsibilities:
• The Polysomnographic Technologist ensures the proper performance of all procedures relating to the accurate, safe operation of all diagnostic and therapeutic polysomnographic services provided by our clinics.
• Prepare the documentation and room for data collection.
• This role involves direct patient contact including describing the procedures, setting-up the patient for the overnight study, addressing questions, resolving technical or equipment issues and monitoring the sleep study throughout the evening.
• Prepare the sleep rooms for sleep studies prior to patients’ arrival.
• Explain testing procedures in a clear and concise manner; answer patients’ queries/concerns.
• Assist patients with the use of equipment.
• Ensure patient safety and always maintain professional standards.
• Perform and assist with duties in the pediatric and research labs.
• Ability to work independently in a time-efficient manner according to set protocols and policies.
Qualification & Experience:
• Relevant and completed post-secondary education -- BSc (Sciences) BA in Psychology, Biology, Neuroscience. Allied Health care professional.
• Strong communication and troubleshooting skills, and ability to work independently.
• A focus on high-quality patient care. Enthusiasm for learning.
• 2-3 years of experience as a PSGT/RPSGT.
• Experience with scoring L1 studies, performing MSLTS and MWTs. Experience working with Sandman and Alice equipment.
• Interest in growing your skills to assume leadership responsibilities is an asset. A proven track record of delivering high quality patient care.
• Experience having handled technical projects, managing people, assisting in a clinic launch, leading the process of installing new equipment or dealing with multiple locations is an asset.
• Ability to work night shifts.
• Ability to work, as needed, at other clinics within the GTA is a strong asset
